Special Events for Adults at our Library

To stay informed about all upcoming special library events SIGN UP TO RECEIVE THE LIBRARY ENEWSLETTER.

All special events are also posted on our online calendar.

The Branching Out Project

Whether you're a dreamer or a planner, we hope that you'll share your thoughts during the Library's planning project! The Library is working with consultant Beth Venn to:
  • update our mission,
  • set goals,
  • make a plan.
If you've always wished that the Library offered something new or would keep something that you love, we would really like to know.

For information or to share suggestions, please email Donna Pesce, Library Director, at dpesce@briarcliffmanorlibrary.org.

Ongoing Programs for Adults

Bring Your Own Book Discussion
  • This informal discussion provides our reading community an opportunity to share reading suggestions. If you are interested in attending, just be ready to tell the group about one or more books you've enjoyed (without giving away too much) and the reasons for your recommendation(s). All genres are welcome. Hopefully, the discussion will leave you excited about some new and interesting titles. We will send all the participants a list of the recommended titles indicating their availability from the library.

Look for dates on our online calendar or contact Lorraine Isaac at lisaac@briarcliffmanorlibrary.org with questions or to register for the program.

Cookbook Club

  • The Library's Cookbook Club meets several times a year to explore a theme. Attendees sign up and each bring a dish to share and a copy of the recipe. It is run by Library volunteers Andrea Vladimir and Cindy Healey.

If you would like to be added to our Cookbook Club mailing list, please email Donna Pesce at dpesce@briarcliffmanorlibrary.org.

Poetry Series

  • Once every season the library offers a poetry event, hosted by our reference librarian, Zach Gerstein. We bring in local poets to appear as featured readers, then open up the mic to anyone who is interested in sharing their work. The events are held in a cafe setting, with coffee, tea and refreshments available.

For more information or questions contact Zach at zgerstein@briarcliffmanorlibrary.org.

WLS Career Coaching Services
  • WLS Career Coaching Services, formerly called WEBS, offers "Managing Your Career in Changing Times" virtual seminars and other career-related workshops run by professional career coaches, all free of charge, sponsored by the Westchester Library System.
